The farmers' market season launches in the Foothills this week with three weekly markets making their 2026 debuts.

The High River Farmers' Market opens Thursday, June 18, followed by the Okotoks Farmers' Market on Friday, June 19, and the Millarville Farmers' Market on Saturday, June 20.

High River's market runs every Thursday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on 4th Avenue SW in downtown High River until September 17. The Okotoks market, also run weekly from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Fridays, is held in the parking lot of the Okotoks Recreation Centre and runs until September 18. Both markets are operated by Inclusion Foothills, which uses proceeds to fund programming supporting individuals with disabilities and their families.

Typically, both markets feature 30 vendors on a weekly basis but can reach as many as 45 on busy days. Vendors include crafters, artists, bakers, and farmers. Produce offerings are limited early in the season but increase as crops ripen over the summer.

Now in its 44th year, the Millarville Farmers' Market is one of Alberta's largest, hosting about 185 vendors every Saturday at the Millarville Racetrack. It draws people from throughout the region and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday until October 10. Admission is a suggested $3 donation.

The Bragg Creek Farmers Market opened earlier on June 14 and runs every Sunday (excluding July 19) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Bragg Creek Community Centre at 23 White Ave. until September 20.
