Airdrie Public Library has seen a dramatic surge in foot traffic since moving to Inspire, the downtown complex that opened in October 2025. The library recorded 398,009 visits in 2025—a 79 percent increase from 2024—and welcomed more than 42,000 program attendees, loaning 827,000 items.
Inspire also houses city-led programming including visual arts classes, free performance opportunities, and meeting spaces available for community booking. The downtown location is drawing residents to the core, with people stopping by for programs, coffee, or to explore nearby businesses.
"A vibrant city centre depends on people being there," the City of Airdrie noted, "and Inspire is helping make downtown a place where people want to spend time." Information about Airdrie Public Library programming and drop-in events is available at yourapl.ca.
