Art of the Harvest returned for its 14th year Saturday, September 19, as the Airdrie and District Agricultural Society's annual celebration of farming roots and simpler times.
The event took place on Range Road 14 in Rocky View County and drew families to experience antique tractor pull competitions, live music, and food trucks. Attendees could enjoy family activities, a petting zoo, and hay wagon rides while watching demonstrations of traditional agriculture machines.
A centrepiece of the day was the chance to harvest fresh vegetables straight from the ground for a $10 donation to the Airdrie Food Bank. The event follows a series of agricultural and horticultural initiatives in the region: Airdrie marked Pollinator Week in June with workshops, film, and native plant tips; the Airdrie Horticultural Society marked its anniversary in August with a free Garden Show; and the Airdrie Urban Farm Collective opened its garden to the community with weekly Farm Days in August.
