Okotoks RCMP will conduct scenario-based training at Westmount School on July 6 and 7, throughout the day, as officers practice responding to active threat situations.

During the exercises, the public may notice an increased police presence around the school. Officers will use 'sim-unition' equipment that simulates gunfire during the scenarios, but police confirmed there is no risk to the public with this training equipment.

Okotoks RCMP thanked the Foothills School Division for its cooperation and understanding as officers complete this essential training.
