More than 500 cars, trucks and motorcycles lined downtown Okotoks streets on Sunday, August 16 for the annual Show and Shine, drawing upwards of 10,000 people to Olde Towne.
The Big Rock Auto Club puts on the popular event, which features an array of vehicles from different eras spread primarily along Elizabeth and McRae streets. The show ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with food and merchandise vendors setting up throughout the day. An engine rebuild competition and a 50/50 draw in support of local charities rounded out the vehicle-focused programming.
The Okotoks Elks Hall played a central role in the festivities, hosting a pancake breakfast, beer garden and live music for attendees looking to take a break from the street activities. The combination of vehicles, food options and entertainment drew families and car enthusiasts from across the region.
The Show and Shine is one of Okotoks' signature summer events, returning annually to celebrate local car culture and support community initiatives through fundraising efforts.
