Western Wheel Cares has launched its 2026 holiday campaign, now in its 15th year, to support seven non-profit organizations in the Foothills.
Donations from Wheel readers are distributed evenly among the charities: Foothills Advocacy in Motion Society, Foothills Country Hospice, Inclusion Foothills, Okotoks Food Bank, Pound Rescue, Rowan House Society and Sheep River Health Trust.
Last year a record $105,684 was raised, bringing the 14-year total to $851,535. This year's campaign runs until Dec. 31 and will not include a 50/50 draw.
Gayle Wolf, office manager at the Western Wheel and co-ordinator of the campaign, said the seven charities offer service to a wide range of community members. Publisher Curtis Armstrong said one donation supports all seven organizations.
Donations can be mailed to Box 150, Okotoks, AB, T1S 2A2, made online at westernwheel.ca/western-wheel-cares, or dropped off at the Wheel office at 9 McRae St. The office line is 587-325-6234.
