A man has turned himself in after an apparently random assault in a Tim Hortons bathroom last month, according to Calgary police.
On June 23, police were called to the Tim Hortons near Sunridge Mall around 8:30 a.m. for reports of an assault. It is alleged that a man was using the washroom when another man came in and attacked him without clear reason. The victim sustained injuries to his head.
The suspect left the washroom immediately and ran out of the restaurant, getting into a white vehicle and driving off.
Police released security photos of the man in hopes of identifying him. On Wednesday, the suspect turned himself in.
Andrew John Delaney, 35, has been charged with assault and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22.
