Cass Bruni is stepping into the top job at the Calgary Hitmen. The organization announced Monday he'll become general manager after serving as assistant GM since 2024.

Bruni joined the Hitmen in 2017 as a video coach, moved into scouting in 2020, and has been helping shape the team's roster for the past two seasons. His promotion caps a decade-long climb within the organization. Outgoing GM Garry Davidson, who played a key role in elevating the Hitmen program and was a finalist for WHL Executive of the Year in consecutive seasons, will transition to a hockey operations advisory role.

Mike Moore, vice-president of the Calgary Hitmen, praised Bruni's credentials, noting his background in engineering and law alongside his deep knowledge of the organization. "We have planned this transition for a few seasons," Moore said, adding that Davidson will continue to mentor Bruni as the team pushes toward its goal of being a premier junior development program in North America.
