Two shot in argument aboard Calgary CTrain turn to platform violence

Two people were shot Saturday night following an argument that escalated from a train to the platform at Victoria Park Stampede station on the CTrain Red Line.
The incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. Three people were involved in a dispute while traveling on the train. When the train arrived at Victoria Park, all three exited onto the platform, where one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other two.
Both victims were rushed to hospital. One was initially in life-threatening condition, but Calgary police say both are now in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene but was located downtown and arrested without incident.
The investigation is ongoing. Police say they believe the victim and suspects were known to each other. Investigators continue to speak with witnesses and are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
This marks another incident of violence at CTrain stations; as HighOnCity reported in June, a woman was seriously assaulted near Lions Park LRT station, and in July, a woman was shot in the knee outside an East Village lounge.
