Flames goalie Cooley engaged after proposal in Switzerland
Devin Cooley proposed to girlfriend Natalie Weyers while representing Team USA at World Championships.
Calgary Flames goaltender Devin Cooley finished his offseason with a major milestone: an engagement.
While representing the United States at the World Championships in Switzerland, the 29-year-old orchestrated a picture-perfect proposal to his girlfriend, Natalie Weyers, in front of Lake Lucerne. "Here's to forever," Weyers announced on Instagram as the couple shared their engagement news.
Cooley impressed on the ice during the tournament, posting a 1.76 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage across six games, though the U.S. was eliminated by Canada in the quarter-final. The couple has spent the past two years together in Calgary since Cooley signed a two-year deal with the organization as a free agent. He spent his first season in the AHL with the Calgary Wranglers before earning the back-up role behind Dustin Wolf in 2025-26.
The pair has become popular among Flames fans, partly due to their adorable pet bunny named Tito, who has his own Instagram account and fan base. Social media comments have already called for Tito to play a role in the wedding ceremony, with one fan suggesting the bunny wear a tuxedo as the ring bearer.
