Gunfire between moving cars strikes southwest homes
Police search for two vehicles after shooting near Silverado leaves house and parked car damaged. No injuries reported.
Calgary police are searching for two vehicles involved in a shooting between moving cars that struck a home and parked vehicle in southwest Calgary last week.
The incident happened around 2:05 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, near Silverado Drive and Silverado Plains Link SW in Silverado. Someone in one vehicle fired at the other, hitting the targeted car at least once before both fled the area.
During the exchange, a stray bullet pierced the front window of a home on Silverado Drive SW. Another struck the windshield of an unoccupied parked vehicle. No one was injured.
Police have identified the vehicles from witness interviews and security footage. The targeted vehicle is a small, dark-coloured hatchback with a burnt-out front driver-side headlight, silver rims, and tinted rear windows. The suspect vehicle is a small, black four-door car with dark-tinted windows.
Officers are asking for dashcam or security camera footage from the area between 1:30 and 2:15 a.m. on May 26. Anyone with information can call Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
