High River's Jason Glass bounced back with a pair of top three finishes at the Calgary Stampede's Rangeland Derby over the weekend, climbing to seventh place overall after a rough opening night.

Glass had a fast run of 1:11.60 on opening day Friday, July 3, but penalties dropped him to second-last place with a total time of 1:16.60. He ran penalty-free on Saturday to come in third with a run time of 1:12.28, and followed up with another penalty-free run on Sunday with a time of 1:15.59, which was good for second place on a slower track.

After three days of racing, Glass sits seventh heading into the weekday racing. Rae Croteau from Blackie leads the overall standings with a 3:39.02 time and no penalties, while Jamie Laboucane sits second at 3:39.68.

The chuckwagons race nightly at 7:15 p.m., with finals scheduled for July 12.
