Growing up in nearby Okotoks, bull rider Jordan Hansen achieved his ultimate goal in 2021 when he won the Calgary Stampede rodeo and claimed the $50,000 purse. Now the 32-year-old is eager to add another title to his collection.

"Knowing the feeling of what it's like to hold the $50,000 cheque and all the work that goes into it, it's definitely something a guy was pretty happy with," said Hansen, who is competing in Pool B from Monday to Wednesday. "It's just where a guy wants to be again. Honestly, it's near and dear to my heart being that close to home."

In preparation for the Stampede, Hansen has been competing at the 2026 Cody Snyder Charity Bullbustin' spectacle at the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino on the Tsuut'ina Nation. After being bucked off on Wednesday, he posted a score of 83.9 the next night and cashed a cheque for finishing 10th out of 30 riders on Thursday.

Hansen sits fourth in the PBR Canada national standings behind Nick Tetz, Gilmar Santana, and Dakota Buttar. He appreciated the opportunity to compete over five nights at Bullbustin'. "It's not too many times you see five nights with this amount of money added for us, so kudos to them and what they've done with this event," he said.
