Gregg Stanley Dodge will stand trial before a jury starting April 5, 2027, in connection with the August 2022 death of Rhonda White, whose body was found in an abandoned house in the 200 block of 14th Avenue N.E.
Dodge, 46, is charged with second-degree murder. He was committed to stand trial on June 3 after a four-day preliminary inquiry in Calgary Court of Justice, when the judge found sufficient evidence to order him to face a jury.
On August 20, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., police were called to the abandoned residence in Crescent Heights for reports of a body. Investigators believed White had died several days before discovery. The charge alleges the death occurred between August 11 and 16, 2022.
Defence counsel Andrea Urquhart requested the trial be scheduled for April rather than earlier in the fall, saying she and the Crown needed time to conduct pre-trial motions before jury selection began. Dodge remains in custody.
