One person was taken to hospital in unknown condition after an officer-involved shooting on Deerfoot Trail S.E. near Memorial Drive S.E. on Sunday afternoon, June 21.
Calgary police said officers responded to multiple reports about a dangerous driver when shots were fired during an arrest attempt. The extent of the person's injuries remain unknown. No officers were injured in the incident.
Northbound Deerfoot Trail between Memorial Drive S.E. and 16th Avenue was closed as of Sunday evening while the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), the province's police watchdog agency, investigated the shooting.
