One dead after assault with weapon in northwest Calgary's Capitol Hill

Police are investigating a fatal assault in the northwest community of Capitol Hill Thursday morning.
Officers responded to reports of an assault with a weapon shortly before 5 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene in the 1300 block of 20 Avenue N.W., police found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. The man was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have taken one person into custody. The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
