Teen driver dies after SUV crashes into parked cars in SE Calgary
A 17-year-old girl struck a parked GMC on 26 Street SE early Wednesday; she was hospitalized in critical condition and died Monday.

A 17-year-old girl has died from injuries sustained in a crash on 26 Street SE near 25 Avenue SE. The collision happened around 3:40 a.m. on June 25, when her 2025 Volkswagen SUV struck a parked 2007 GMC Savana heading north. The impact pushed the GMC into another parked vehicle, a 2017 Mazda 3. Both parked vehicles were unoccupied.
The driver was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Police provided an update on Monday, June 29, saying she had died of her injuries. Investigators are examining whether speed played a role in the crash.
