The collision happened around 3:40 a.m. when a 2025 Volkswagen SUV heading north on 26 Street SE near 25 Avenue SE struck a parked 2007 GMC Savana. The impact pushed the GMC into another parked vehicle, a 2017 Mazda 3. Both parked vehicles were unoccupied.

The driver of the Volkswagen was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Police are investigating whether speed played a role in the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
