A tornado warning issued Tuesday night for an area northeast of Calgary has been lifted, but tornado watches remain in effect across parts of Alberta.

Environment Canada issued the warning at 7:44 p.m. for a section of Starland County and the communities of Delia, Hanna, Richdale and Spondin — approximately 160 kilometres northeast of the city. The warning was lifted at 8:13 p.m. after the severe thunderstorm being tracked southwest of Lawsonburg, about 140 kilometres northeast of Calgary, moved out of the area.

As of 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Environment Canada had multiple severe weather warnings and watches in effect across different parts of Alberta, including some tornado watches. A tornado watch had been issued earlier Tuesday for much of central Alberta due to the possibility of severe thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
