Two pedestrians in critical condition after northeast Calgary collision

Crash at 32nd Street N.E. and 20th Avenue N.E. leaves traffic disrupted. Driver remained at scene.

Two pedestrians were taken to hospital in critical condition Tuesday evening after a collision at the intersection of 32nd Street N.E. and 20th Avenue N.E.

Calgary police closed the northbound lane of 32nd Street N.E. at Sunridge Way N.E. and the southbound lane at 24th Avenue N.E. in response. Residents were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The driver remained at the scene. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
