A warehouse fire broke out in Mount Royal on Monday morning, forcing firefighters to battle flames that had spread from a portable trailer unit into the main building.

Crew arrived at the commercial warehouse on Peacekeepers Drive around 6:20 a.m. to find billowing smoke pouring from inside. Fire department spokesperson Alex Kwan said crews discovered the fire had started in a smaller washroom trailer and was pushing into the main structure.

"Crews started protecting the main warehouse building," Kwan told 660 NewsRadio. They stretched hose lines, ventilated the space, and pushed the flames back from the trailer.

No injuries were reported. The trailer and building sustained damage. Investigators remain on scene to determine the cause and ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
