Calgary police are seeking five suspects in a serious assault that left a woman with injuries from what they believe was a weapon attack near a northwest LRT station Thursday.

The attack occurred around 1:30 p.m. in a grassy area just south of the Lions Park LRT platform between 13 and 14 Avenue N.W. The woman wasn't reported until 5:50 p.m., when a man at Sunnyside LRT Station called 911 after finding her with multiple serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital with wounds consistent with an armed assault. Investigators reviewed security footage and identified one man and four women they believe were involved. Police have released photos of the group and are asking anyone with information to contact them.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has details about the attack can call 403-266-1234 or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
