Things to do in Calgary this week: August 30–September 5

This week Calgary opens with a major comedy pull—the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival arrives Sunday at Prince's Island Park with an 18-plus all-day pass featuring John Mulaney, Matteo Lane, Kevin Nealon, and more, kicking off at noon. If you're catching the afternoon show at 2:00 PM with Matteo Lane, Tig Notaro, and Bob the Drag Queen, Sunday's overcast start (9 to 17 degrees, roughly a third chance of rain) is manageable under cover; the evening set at 7:00 PM is where the festival peaks.
