After Wilfred's closed in late June, the space sat quiet—until Vagabond Pop-ups steps in Thursday through Sunday for dinner service starting this weekend.
Chefs Christine Sandford and Roger Letourneau, who led Vagabond's one-off summer events at the venue, are settling in for a four-month residency. The menu will shift throughout, built on seasonal ingredients and classic dishes with Vagabond favourites in the mix. The bar carries wine, beer, and cocktails, with occasional wine collaborations on the calendar.
Sandford spent seven years as executive chef at Biera; Letourneau previously held the same title at Bar Clementine. Both have worked and staged across Europe—Sandford at Senderens in Paris, Letourneau at spots including De Superette in Ghent, In de Wulf in Dranouter, and Relae in Copenhagen.
Reservations go online, with walk-in space kept available. Hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, running through January at 10429 121st St. NW in Wîhkwêntôwin.
