Highway 20 La Fontaine tunnel closures: four weekends in August and late August

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable is closing Highway 20 at the La Fontaine tunnel for four consecutive weekends in August to replace joints on the overpass over De Montarville Boulevard in Boucherville.
Highway 20 westbound will close completely between exit 95 (De Montarville Boulevard) and the entrance from De Montarville Boulevard from Friday, August 7, 11 p.m., to Monday, August 10, 5 a.m., and again from Friday, August 21, 11 p.m., to Monday, August 24, 5 a.m.
Highway 20 eastbound will be closed from Friday, August 14, 11 p.m., to Monday, August 17, 5 a.m., and from Friday, August 28, 11 p.m., to September 1, 5 a.m.
De Montarville Boulevard southbound will also be closed during these periods from Friday 10:30 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m. One lane will remain open between rue Ampère and chemin de Touraine to allow access to local shops. A detour will be set up via Ampère Street and De Mortagne Boulevard to access Highway 20 in both directions. De Montarville Boulevard northbound will remain open.
No closures are planned for the week of August 3 or the weekend of August 7 to 10 for work in the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel itself.
A police presence is planned in the area to facilitate traffic. The Ministry recommends allowing extra time to reach your destination and checking Quebec 511 or the Quebec 511 mobile application before travelling. Work may be postponed due to adverse weather or operational constraints.
