Transport Quebec announced that Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, will be closed toward Montreal during the weekend of July 3 for a major traffic transfer operation.

The complete closure toward Montreal runs from Friday, July 3 at 11 p.m. to Monday, July 6 at 5 a.m. The entrances to this section will close 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed. Highway 25 northbound will be accessible via the ramp from Souligny Avenue eastbound starting Saturday at 8 a.m.

The closure is required to transfer traffic to new slabs of Highway 25 northbound, just after exit 3 (Notre-Dame Street, Hochelaga Street). This transfer will allow completion of the highway slabs in the sector, as well as those of the ramp to Souligny Avenue westbound.

A separate complete night closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore will occur from Friday 11 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m., also including the tunnel, for maintenance work. Souligny Avenue eastbound between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets will close 30 minutes before the complete closure.

Work may be postponed or extended due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints. Transport Quebec recommends consulting Québec 511 before hitting the road.
