Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, will close in both directions Friday night through Monday morning for electrical and communications system maintenance.

The tunnel will be completely closed southbound between Exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and Souligny Avenue from Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. On-ramps for this section will close 30 minutes prior. When it reopens Saturday morning, drivers can access the tunnel from Souligny Avenue heading east.

Northbound, the tunnel will close between Exit 90 (Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie, USA, Varennes, P.E. Trudeau Airport) and the Sherbrooke Street East entrance from Friday at 11 p.m. to Saturday at 8 a.m. Two left lanes will remain closed northbound between the Souligny Avenue ramp and Place Curatteau from Saturday at 10:30 p.m. to Sunday at 9 a.m.

Avenue Souligny will also have closures: eastbound traffic closes between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, with additional eastbound closures Saturday evening through Sunday morning. Westbound closures between Honoré-Beaugrand and Dickson run Friday at 10:30 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m.

Transport Quebec advises drivers to check Québec 511 or its mobile app to plan trips. Maintenance may be postponed or cancelled due to weather.
