Man stabbed in Pierrefonds-Roxboro; suspect arrested in Mirabel

A 35-year-old man suffered upper-body wounds from a sharp object after an altercation at the intersection of Gouin Boulevard and 8th Avenue in Pierrefonds-Roxboro early Sunday morning, October 11. Police arrived at the scene around 2:10 a.m. in response to a 911 call and found the victim conscious. The man was transported to hospital; his condition was not reported at the time.

A 38-year-old suspect was arrested around 3:45 a.m. in Mirabel, on the northern outskirts of Montreal. The victim knew the assailant, according to police. The suspect was taken to an investigation center for questioning.

Montreal Police Service spokesperson Officer Caroline Chèvrefils said: "When officers arrived at the scene, they located a victim: a 35-year-old man. He was conscious and had upper-body injuries caused by a sharp object. He was transported to a hospital." Investigators deployed a forensic technician to the crime scene and established a security perimeter. Police interviewed witnesses and are checking for surveillance cameras in the area.

Charges against the suspect have not yet been specified. The investigation remains ongoing.
