Montrealers and South Shore commuters face major transit disruptions this weekend as the UCI Road World Championships wind down Sunday after nine days of competition, with the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge completely closed northbound toward Montreal from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27.
Highway 15 North in Montreal between the bridge and Atwater Avenue will also be closed during those windows. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility recommends using the Victoria and Jacques-Cartier bridges as alternatives, but warns major delays are expected during closure periods.
In Montreal, Route 136 East (Ville-Marie), exit 2 at Atwater Avenue, will be closed Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Brossard faces additional impacts: Highway 15 North/Route 132 East at exit 53 (Samuel-De Champlain Bridge access) closes 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Route 132 West at exit 75 closes access to Highway 15 North and the bridge during the same window. The A-15 North/R-132 East service road (Marie-Victorin Boulevard East) will have complete closure between Rome Boulevard and the A-10, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rome Boulevard northbound closes between Leduc and Marie-Victorin East Boulevards for the same period.
Additional closures stretch across the South Shore and beyond: Highway 30 East exit 69 (Grande-Allée) closes 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Highway 10 East exit 22 (A-35 to Chambly and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu) closes 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.; A-35 North exit 55-E (to A-10 East and Sherbrooke) closes 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Route 104 (Saint-Luc Boulevard) in both directions between Saint-André Road and Pine Avenue operates in reverse flow on the eastbound lane, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
