A 42-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday morning after being stabbed by a coworker at an auto parts distribution company in St-Leonard.
The SPVM received a 911 call at 8:20 a.m. from an industrial building on Grandes-Prairies Boulevard near Viau Boulevard. The victim suffered serious upper body injuries and was conscious when taken to hospital. A 31-year-old coworker was arrested at the scene and has minor injuries. Police spokesperson Florence Stafford said that "according to initial reports, a conflict between two individuals broke out and the victim was injured seriously during the altercation."
The suspect is expected to be interviewed by investigators as the case continues. The motive for the stabbing has not been disclosed, nor has police clarified whether the two men knew each other outside of work.
This is the latest in a series of stabbing incidents in Montreal.
