Third suspect arrested in Sud-Ouest home invasion and shooting from January

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a home invasion and shooting that occurred in Montreal's Sud-Ouest borough on January 28, 2026.

The 16-year-old, who was the subject of a Canada-wide arrest warrant, was arrested by Montreal police in collaboration with the Saskatoon Police Service and brought back to Montreal on Wednesday. He remains in custody after appearing remotely before the Youth Division of the Court of Quebec. He faces charges including breaking and entering, pointing a firearm and recklessly discharging a firearm.

Two other suspects have already been arrested: 20-year-old Christopher Ethan Prince and a 17-year-old minor. A fourth suspect is still at large.

According to police, an individual claiming to be delivering a package arrived at the residence around 7:30 p.m. on January 28, followed by three accomplices, two of whom were reportedly armed with guns. One suspect allegedly fired a weapon during the incident. Another suspect was shot in the abdomen, while the home's resident sustained a minor injury to the arm. The four suspects then fled the scene, leaving behind several pieces of evidence.
