Eight teenagers, aged 14 to 18, have been arrested following a police chase involving a stolen vehicle that began in Longueuil and ended in Montreal on Sunday night, September 7.
According to Longueuil police (SPAL), the arrests came after a woman in her 40s was allegedly targeted in an armed assault involving the vehicle following an altercation with the teenagers. The woman was not injured. The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in the parking lot of a business located near the intersection of Roland-Therrien and Jacques-Cartier East boulevards in Longueuil.
After the teens fled the scene, SPAL officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to intercept it. The driver did not stop, and the pursuit continued all the way to Montreal. SPAL officers arrested all eight suspects with assistance from Montreal police and SQ (Sûreté du Québec) officers. The vehicle was identified as stolen.
Six of the teenagers were released on conditional bail, while two remain in custody. The investigation is ongoing and charges may be filed at a later date.
