A young girl is in serious condition following a dramatic incident at Sylvia Holden wading pool, off Queen Elizabeth Driveway near Fifth Avenue in the Glebe, on Friday afternoon.

Ottawa paramedics responded shortly after noon after first responders discovered a young child face down in the water. Superintendent Nicolas Guertin said she was breathing when pulled from the pool and was further revived on the way to hospital.

Several Ottawa police cruisers and fire personnel attended the scene. The wading pool was cordoned off with police tape.
