Ottawa police arrested an 18-year-old man Friday night, June 13 with a replica handgun and a knife in the Rideau Centre food court after alert members of the public called 911 to report the incident.
Jad Ghanem of Ottawa was charged with two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and one count each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, causing a disturbance and breach of probation. He appeared in court Saturday, June 13 and remains in custody.
There were no injuries in the incident, police said.
