Man charged after assaulting officers at Escapade Music Festival
A 44-year-old Ottawa man faces six charges after three police officers and two security guards were injured at the festival Friday night.

A 44-year-old Ottawa man has been charged after three Ottawa police officers and two security guards were assaulted at the 2026 Escapade Music Festival on Friday night, June 26 around 9:45 p.m.
One officer suffered a concussion and another needed stitches to their hand. Two officers attended hospital for their injuries but are expected to make a full recovery, police said.
The suspect was allegedly intoxicated at the time. Police charged him with six counts including assault of a peace officer, assault of a peace officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, two additional assault charges, and causing a disturbance. The accused's identity was not released.
Ottawa police said they will continue taking a zero-tolerance approach to disorderly behaviour or criminal activity at events that could negatively impact residents, visitors, and businesses.
