O-Train Line 1 service was disrupted Thursday morning after a train stopped at Cyrville Station due to damage to the overhead wiring system between St-Laurent and Cyrville stations.

The train came to a stop around 9:50 a.m., according to Transit Services General Manager Rick Leary. OC Transpo crews worked to safely remove the stopped train from Cyrville Station. Once cleared, westbound service resumed between St-Laurent and Blair, with riders in either direction still needing to transfer at St-Laurent.

R1 replacement buses ran between St-Laurent and Blair Thursday, with shuttle buses connecting St-Laurent and Cyrville. Another service change took effect Thursday evening when crews began repairs around 8 p.m., running trains between Tunney's Pasture and Tremblay stations instead.

Leary said repairs were expected to finish overnight, with regular Line 1 service returning for the Friday morning commute. This marks the third Line 1 disruption HighOnCity reported in the last two months — the system has dealt with power line damage in June and westbound service cuts in July.
