Ottawa police seek suspect in Montreal Road bank robbery

Ottawa police are asking the public to help identify a man suspected of robbing a bank near Montreal Road and St-Laurent Boulevard on Monday, Aug. 4.
The suspect entered the bank in the 500 block of Montreal Road around 11:20 a.m., approached a teller and demanded cash. Staff complied and he fled with an undisclosed amount. Police describe him as a White man approximately 40 years old with a tanned complexion, grey hair, a light-coloured beard and a pointed nose. At the time, he wore black sunglasses, a black baseball cap with a red brim featuring the Ottawa Redblacks logo, a light green-blue T-shirt, a jacket and black jeans.

As HighOnCity reported in July, Ottawa police have pursued several robbery suspects in recent months, including a man charged after robbing a downtown convenience store and assaulting staff, and another wanted in connection with a taxi robbery and assault on Meadowlands Drive.
