Two stabbed at Mooney's Bay amid violent confrontations
Large gathering Saturday night left one victim in critical condition. Ottawa police maintaining heavy presence at the park.
Two people are hospitalized with stab wounds following violent confrontations at a large gathering at Mooney's Bay on Saturday night. One victim, a young adult man, remains in critical condition after paramedics transported him to a trauma centre. A teenage female was treated at the scene and admitted to hospital in stable condition.
Ottawa Paramedics Service received multiple calls just before 9 p.m. reporting patients at the scene. Paramedic spokesperson Neil Martin said unconfirmed reports indicated hundreds of people were present. Paramedics were heavily involved in treatment during transport of the critical-condition victim.
Ottawa police are maintaining a large presence in and around Mooney's Bay Park as the investigation continues. Police said there will be no further update until Monday at the earliest.
