Canada Border Services Agency officers seized approximately 380 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine at the Coutts border crossing on July 2, the agency announced Wednesday.
The drugs—300 kilograms of methamphetamine and 80 kilograms of cocaine—were concealed in moving boxes and a duffel bag inside a commercial truck destined for Vilna, a village northeast of Edmonton. Officers arrested the driver, and the RCMP took possession of the drugs.
The seizure adds to Alberta's enforcement record: CBSA officers in the province seized more than 1,300 kilograms of methamphetamine and cocaine combined during 2025.
This marks another significant cross-border drug bust in Alberta. As HighOnCity reported in July, a separate investigation led to the seizure of $139 million in cocaine and methamphetamine alongside 17 firearms.
