NAV Canada, which runs civil air navigation services across the country, is hiring Flight Service Specialists across Quebec right now — and the role requires no prior experience, only a high school diploma and fluency in both French and English.
All training is fully paid. During the training period, which typically runs 8 to 17 months and combines classroom work, simulations, and on-the-job experience, hires earn $50,200 annually.
Once certified, salaries jump significantly depending on the stream. Airport Advisory Services specialists, who help pilots before, during, and after flights with weather, runway status, and airspace information, earn between $80,859 and $127,424. Flight Information Centre specialists, who provide pre-flight briefings, flight planning, and in-flight support, earn $96,157 to $122,619.
Assessments for Montreal candidates are set for August 2026. The application deadline is July 15, 2026.
Depending on operational needs, new hires could work at any of NAV Canada's Quebec sites: Montreal, Gatineau, Mirabel, Mont-Joli, Sept-Îles, Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Kuujjuaq, or the Îles-de-la-Madeleine. To be eligible, candidates must be at least 18, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and willing to relocate if needed. The selection process includes cognitive testing, a pre-screening interview, and an assessment centre with individual and group exercises.
