Nearly a quarter of Quebec's eligible voters have already cast ballots, with 24.56% voting in advance polling as of Wednesday. Advance voting began Sunday at select polling stations, following earlier voting opportunities at returning officers' offices Friday and Saturday, and on-campus voting for students Friday.
The general election is set for Tuesday, October 6, with polling stations open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Early voting continues Thursday, October 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Voter turnout varied significantly by region. The Louis-Hébert electoral district in the Capitale-Nationale led with 39% advance voter turnout, while Ungava, Quebec's northernmost district, recorded the lowest at 8.31%.
Voters can still register or update their address until 2 p.m. Thursday, October 1, in person at a returning officer's office. Required documents include one or more forms showing name, date of birth, and address — such as a driver's licence, health insurance card, Canadian passport, or birth certificate — plus a utility bill or lease.
Five parties are expected to win seats: Coalition Avenir Québec (leader Christine Fréchette), Parti Québécois (leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon), Quebec Liberals (leader Charles Milliard), Quebec Conservatives (leader Éric Duhaime), and Québec solidaire (leader Ruba Ghazal).
