Bushido, an intimate omakase-kaiseki restaurant, opens October 22 inside Casa Loma at 1 Austin Terrace. The project comes from Liberty Entertainment Group, the hospitality company behind Blue Blood, Blue Bovine, Don Alfonso 1890, DaNico, and Powder Room.
Executive sushi chef Yi-Joo Na, currently at Blue Bovine, will shape the menu through kaiseki and omakase traditions, drawing on seasonality and top-tier ingredients. CEO Nick Di Donato said: "Chef Na is so phenomenal at his craft. I wanted to find a platform for him that was suitable. For me, Casa Loma, with its historical beauty and sense of mystery, was the perfect backdrop for his creativity."
The experience unfolds across different settings within the castle as the evening progresses—a dining concept designed around discovery and curiosity, with the chef's whims determining both what diners eat and where they eat it. No two visits are intended to feel the same, making each dinner a slow reveal of the castle's spaces.
Prices sit around $350 per person. Na is keeping specific menu items confidential, but diners can expect influences from Blue Bovine's repertoire: deep cuts from Hokkaido, melt-in-your-mouth toro, and occasional A5 Wagyu moments. The intimate format relieves patrons of responsibility beyond paying the bill.
