Four arrested in organized crime break-in ring across York Region
Suspects tied to at least 20 residential break-ins are in custody after targeting homes for cash, jewelry, and firearms.
Four suspects have been charged after an investigation into a sophisticated burglary ring operating across York Region. Police determined the group travelled to Canada specifically to commit property crimes — a pattern consistent with organized crime-tourism networks seen in other jurisdictions.
The suspects targeted at least 20 homes between January and May, consistently entering through rear basement glass doors and stealing cash, high-end clothing, jewellery, and firearms. Investigators say the operation was well-organized and deliberate.
On May 13, officers responded to a break-and-enter near Clark Avenue and Dufferin Street in Vaughan around 10 p.m. and arrested three suspects near the scene. Police executed search warrants at homes in Toronto and Mississauga, recovering property believed to be stolen during the spree.
York Regional Police created a Dropbox folder with photos of recovered items still unclaimed. Anyone who was victimized between January and May can review the images and contact police if they recognize their property. A verification process will be required before items are returned.
