Olive Garden has opened its first Ontario location at Vaughan Mills shopping centre, marking the first Eastern Canadian restaurant for the iconic Italian-American chain.

The opening is part of a national expansion under a development agreement between Recipe Restaurant Group and Darden Restaurants Inc., reached in July 2025. Recipe Restaurant Group CEO Frank Hennessey called the Ontario opening "a significant milestone."

The restaurant is situated near Entry 1 at the mall, next to Bass Pro Shops, with access from both inside the mall and the parking lot.

Known for its unlimited breadsticks, salads, appetizers, and never-ending pasta deals, Olive Garden has operated nearly 45 years globally. Currently, eight Olive Gardens operate in Western Canada and the Prairies in Calgary, Edmonton, Langley, Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon.

Recipe has confirmed plans for two additional Ontario locations: one in Ajax in Durham region and another in Westboro, Ottawa. The company plans to expand with several more restaurants across Ontario.
