Three days. That's how long 14-year-old Esther has been missing, and her parents are desperate for the city's help to bring her home.

Esther was last seen around 11:15 p.m. Friday in the area of Earl Bales Park in North York. Toronto police Deputy Inspector Peter Wallace held a press conference Tuesday at a command post near the park, describing the girl as female, white, five feet two inches tall with a medium build and brown hair. She was wearing grey sweatpants and a green shirt when she vanished.

Police are concerned for her safety. They're asking anyone in the area—particularly homeowners—to check their backyards, sheds, and security camera footage for any sign of Esther.

At the press conference, Esther's mother, Shira, made an emotional appeal directly to her daughter: "Esti, my love, if you are watching this, please come home. We love you so very much and we miss you terribly. Nobody is angry with you no matter what has happened. All we care about is knowing that you are okay."

Shira described her daughter as kind, social, and someone who "talks to everyone and makes friends everywhere she goes"—a personality that could work in her favour if she's simply scared and hiding, but also a trait that makes her disappearance all the more puzzling.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Toronto police immediately.
