Canadian tests presumptively positive for hantavirus from cruise ship
Person who left MV Hondius showing mild symptoms after exposure
One of four Canadians who were aboard a cruise ship where hantavirus was detected has tested "presumptively positive" for the virus, according to B.C.'s provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. The person developed mild symptoms two days ago after leaving the vessel. France's Pasteur Institute confirmed the virus detected in another passenger matches known South American strains with no evidence of new dangerous characteristics.
