Costco Recalls Multivitamins Over Metal Contamination

A nationwide recall affects Kirkland Signature Women 50+ vitamins sold at Costco between February and May due to potential loose metal pieces.

Costco Canada has issued a nationwide recall of Kirkland Signature Women 50+ multivitamin tablets due to the potential presence of loose metal pieces in the pill bottle. The recall only affects bottles with lot number 5J46568W7 and expiration date FE/2028, sold through Costco warehouses and online between February and May 2026.

Manufacturer Vita Health Products initiated the voluntary recall as a precautionary measure. Health Canada has categorized it as a Type 2 recall, meaning the use of or exposure to the product may cause temporary adverse health effects. The company urges customers not to consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute the recalled product.

If you purchased this lot, you can return it to any Costco warehouse for a full refund without questions. For information, Vita Health Customer Service can be reached at 1-877-637-7557 or vitacs@vitahealth.ca. This marks the latest in a series of Costco Canada recalls; the retailer issued warnings in recent weeks about contaminated shampoo and conditioner, as well as a pizza kit with mold risk.

The contamination issue highlights why checking lot numbers and expiration dates on vitamins and supplements matters—especially for products you're taking daily.
