FIFA World Cup 2026 $1 commemorative coins now in circulation
Royal Canadian Mint releases colourized and standard versions of collectible coins
The Royal Canadian Mint has released two versions of a new $1 FIFA World Cup 2026 commemorative coin—a colourized edition and a standard non-colourized edition—that entered circulation on Thursday. Designed by Canadian artist Glen Green, the coins commemorate Canada's role as co-host of the tournament alongside the U.S. and Mexico. Toronto and Vancouver are among the 16 cities hosting matches from June 11 to July 19, making these coins a tangible way for Canadians to connect with the historic event.
