Garbage truck driver killed in Highway 401 rollover
A 44-year-old North York man died after his truck rolled on the westbound collector lanes near Port Union on Sunday.
A garbage truck driver from North York was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 401 near Port Union on Sunday afternoon.
The man was ejected from the truck as it rolled across the westbound collector lanes. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Ontario Provincial Police closed the westbound collector lanes near Westney Road for investigation and cleanup. Express lanes remained open, with all lanes expected to reopen later in the afternoon. Anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact the OPP.
