Long Island Rail Road workers strike, paralyzing commutes

North America's largest commuter rail system came to a halt Saturday as unionized workers in the New York City area went on strike. Five unions representing about half of the Long Island Rail Road's workforce walked off the job early Saturday morning, halting service across the eastern suburbs.
